Lihatkepri.com, Jakarta – Badan POM menerbitkan izin edar produk makanan setelah dilakukan evaluasi terhadap aspek keamanan, mutu, gizi, serta label. Dalam peraturan Kepala Badan POM Nomor 12 Tahun 2016 dinyatakan bahwa pangan olahan yang mengandung bahan tertentu yang berasal dari babi harus mencantumkan tanda khusus berupa tulisan “MENGANDUNG BABI” dan gambar babi berwarna merah dalam kotak berwarna merah diatas dasar warna putih.
Badan POM juga melakukan pengawasan terhadap produk yang beredar di pasaran (post-market vigilance) termasuk produk yang mengandung babi atau diduga mengandung babi dengan cara (1) penempatan termasuk display di sarana ritel, yaitu produk yang mengandung babi harus diletakkan terpisah dari produk non babi dengan diberikan keterangan “MENGANDUNG BABI”, dan (2) pengambilan contoh dan pengujian terhadap parameter DNA spesifik babi.
Badan POM telah melakukan pengambilan sampel dan pengujian terhadap beberapa produk mi instan asal Korea. Dari beberapa produk yang telah dilakukan pengujian terhadap parameter DNA spesifik babi, beberapa produk menunjukkan positif (+) terdeteksi mengandung DNA babi yaitu:

Berdasarkan pengecekan label diketahui bahwa produk yang mengandung babi tersebut tidak mencantumkan peringatan “MENGANDUNG BABI”. Importir juga tidak menginformasikan kepada Badan POM saat pendaftaran untuk mendapatkan izin edar bahwa produk yang didaftarkan tersebut mengandung babi. Terhadap produk-produk tersebut, Badan POM telah memerintahkan importir yang bersangkutan untuk menarik produk dari peredaran.
Sebagai langkah antisipasi dan perlindungan konsumen, Badan POM menginstruksikan Balai Besar/Balai POM di seluruh Indonesia untuk terus melakukan penarikan terhadap produk yang tidak memenuhi ketentuan, termasuk yang terdeteksi positif (+) mengandung DNA babi, namun tidak mencantumkan peringatan “MENGANDUNG BABI”.
Badan POM terus mengimbau pelaku usaha agar selalu menaati peraturan perundang-undangan yang berlaku dalam menjalankan usahanya. Masyarakat diharapkan dapat berpartisipasi aktif dengan melaporkan apabila menemukan hal-hal yang mencurigakan terkait peredaran Obat dan Makanan yang tidak memenuhi ketentuan. Masyarakat harus menjadi konsumen cerdas dengan selalu “Cek KLIK”. Pastikan kemasan dalam kondisi baik, cek informasi produk pada labelnya, pastikan memiliki Izin edar Badan POM, dan pastikan tidak melebihi masa Kedaluwarsa. Masyarakat juga dapat mengecek legalitas produk Obat dan Makanan melalui website Badan POM atau aplikasi android “CekBPOM”.
