Mengenal Produk Derivatif di Pasar Modal

Jakarta,– Sebagian masyarakat pasti sudah mengenal produk-produk investasi di pasar modal seperti saham, obligasi, surat utang negara, atau reksa dana. Namun untuk investor yang lebih terampil, biasanya sudah mengenal produk-produk yang lebih sophisticated seperti derivatif. Secara definisi, produk derivatif adalah perjanjian atau kontrak antara dua belah pihak untuk menjual atau membeli suatu aset di masa depan dengan harga yang telah ditentukan sebelumnya. Dengan definisi tersebut, derivatif bisa juga disebut sebagai efek turunan, karena peluang keuntungannya akan bergantung pada kinerja aset yang terdapat di spot market. Derivatif umumnya digunakan oleh pelaku pasar sebagai sarana untuk melakukan transaksi secara leverage untuk mendapatkan keuntungan lebih, artbitrase untuk memanfaatkan disparitas harga di pasar, maupun untuk lindung nilai atau hedging atas portofolio yang dimiliki.

Produk derivatif yang terdapat di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) merupakan derivatif keuangan, yaitu derivatif yang didasari oleh instrumen keuangan seperti saham, obligasi, indeks saham, indeks obligasi, atau instrumen keuangan lainnya. Produk derivatif yang diperdagangkan di BEI antara lain IDX LQ45 Futures, Indonesia Government Bond Futures, IDX30 Futures, dan Basket Bond Futures. BEI dalam waktu dekat ini akan meluncurkan derivatif baru yaitu Single Stock Futures (SSF) yang menggunakan underlying aset saham.

SSF merupakan produk yang berbeda dengan produk derivatif BEI lainnya. Derivatif keuangan lainnya  yang saat ini diperdagangkan di BEI didasari oleh indeks saham dan surat utang negara, sedangkan efek yang mendasari SSF adalah saham. SSF memiliki beberapa keunggulan dibanding produk derivatif BEI lainnya, salah satunya satuan kontrak yang paling rendah dibanding produk derivatif lainnya sehingga modal yang dibutuhkan investor untuk dapat mulai berinvestasi SSF lebih kecil. Investor dapat membeli sebuah saham hanya dengan membayar minimum 4% dari total modal yang dikeluarkan jika membeli saham biasa. Sebagai contoh apabila investor membeli SSF dengan underlying saham seharga 10 ribu rupiah, maka dana yang diperlukan untuk membeli 1 kontrak setara 100 saham hanya sebesar 40 ribu rupiah, dibandingkan dengan membeli saham secara langsung yang membutuhkan dana 1 juta rupiah. Adapun ketentuan modal minimum tersebut juga dapat ditetapkan lebih tinggi oleh Anggota Bursa. SSF pun dapat memberikan kesempatan bagi investor untuk melindungi nilai portofolio dan mendapat keuntungan baik pada saat pasar naik maupun turun. Apabila kondisi pasar sedang mengalami tren penurunan, investor dapat mengambil posisi short dan mengambil keuntungan apabila saham yang mendasari SSF turut mengalami penurunan harga, begitupun sebaliknya.

Untuk tahap pertama, BEI akan meluncurkan SSF dengan menggunakan 5 saham yang ada di indeks LQ45 sebagai underlying SSF. Saham-saham tersebut antara lain BBCA, BBRI, TLKM, ASII, dan MDKA dengan masing-masing underlying memiliki periode kontrak 1 bulan, 2 bulan dan 3 bulan, sehingga secara total akan ada 15 seri SSF yang akan diluncurkan. Untuk mendukung kemudahan transaksi SSF, BEI bekerja sama dengan PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia (KPEI) dan PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI) juga telah selesai mengembangkan infrastruktur regulasi dan sistem untuk dapat dimanfaatkan oleh Anggota Bursa (AB). Saat ini BEI bersama dengan AB derivatif sedang dalam proses persiapan untuk dapat menawarkan produk SSF kepada khalayak umum. Selain itu, BEI juga terus mengadakan sosialisasi dan edukasi rutin mengenai produk-produk non-saham termasuk produk derivatif agar investor mendapat pemahaman yang lebih mendalam dan dapat mulai memanfaatkan produk tersebut. BEI akan selalu bersikap adaptif dan inovatif dalam mengembangkan variasi produk non-saham, termasuk produk derivatif, untuk memperluas pilihan investasi yang dapat dimanfaatkan investor pasar modal Indonesia agar mendapat keuntungan yang optimal. **TIM BEI
