TANJUNGPINANG – Pemilihan Rektor Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH) periode 2024-2028 telah sukses dilaksanakan pada hari ini Rabu (8/5/2024) di Gedung Auditorium Kampus UMRAH Dompak. Kegiatan yang dilakukan secara demokratis itu melibatkan seluruh anggota Senat UMRAH dan Menteri dalam menentukan sosok yang akan memimpin UMRAH ke depan.
Terdapat tiga calon Rektor yang bersaing dalam pemilihan tersebut, yakni:
- Nomor urut 1 Dr. Tengku Said Raza’i, S.Pi, MP.
- Nomor urut 2 Dr. Oksep Adhayanto, S.H, M.H.
- Nomor urut 3 Prof. Dr. Agung Dhamar Syakti, S.Pi, DEA.
Pada pemilihan yang melibatkan total 40 suara, terdiri dari 26 suara dari Senat Universitas dan 14 suara dari Menteri, hasilnya telah menetapkan Prof. Dr. Agung Dhamar Syakti, S.Pi, DEA, calon nomor urut 3 sebagai pemenang dengan memperoleh dukungan sebanyak 31 suara.
Proses pemilihan berlangsung dengan lancar, hikmat, dan tenang. Hasil akhir ini menunjukkan kepercayaan dan harapan besar dari para pemilih terhadap kepemimpinan Prof. Dr. Agung Dhamar Syakti untuk memimpin UMRAH dalam mencapai prestasi yang lebih gemilang di masa mendatang.
Prof. Dr. Agung Dhamar Syakti, merupakan Rektor UMRAH Periode 2020-2024, seorang akademisi yang memiliki pengalaman dan komitmen yang kuat dalam pengembangan pendidikan tinggi di bidang maritim dan kelautan.
Dengan terpilih kembali Prof. Dr. Agung Dhamar Syakti sebagai Nakhoda UMRAH, diharapkan akan terjadi berbagai inovasi dan terobosan baru demi meningkatkan mutu pendidikan dan penelitian di Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji.
